Places of interest near the apartments include Porta Soprana, Palazzo Ducale, Piazza De Ferrari, the Palazzi dei Rolli in Genoa and the Strada Nuova Museums, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The wonderful alleys of Genoa, the "caruggi", are those sung in De André's songs, they are the streets of the Genoese nightlife. Passing through the caruggi you arrive at the Porto Antico area of Genoa, the heart of the city, the soul of the historic center and the largest square on the Mediterranean. It is a space always open where every day tourism, culture, conferences, fairs, shows, sports, sailing, restaurants, shopping and the Genoa aquarium, the largest in Europe, meet.

THE PALACES OF THE ROLLI
In 2006, the Palazzi dei Rolli complex was created, which today includes 42 buildings. In Via Garibaldi you can admire three of these buildings from the outside, today also known as the “Museums of Strada Nuova”: Palazzo Rosso, Palazzo Bianco and Palazzo Doria Tursi.
THE ANCIENT PORT
The Porto Antico area is the true cultural centre of the city.
You can do it comfortably on foot, crossing the streets of the historic center again.
This area was completely modernized in 1992 by Renzo Piano and today it is one of the most popular areas of the city, both by Genoese and tourists, as some of the most famous attractions of Genoa are located here, such as the famous Aquarium.

FERRARI SQUARE
The main square of the city.
Located in the heart of the historic center, it is easily reachable both on foot and by public transport.
Piazza De Ferrari is a real meeting and gathering place: important events and city demonstrations are held here. Dedicated to Raffaele De Ferrari, Duke of Galliera, it has a large bronze fountain in the center and hosts some of the most important buildings in Genoa, such as the Teatro Carlo Felice and the Palazzo dell'Accademia Linguistica di Belle Arti.

PORTA SOPRANA AND THE HOUSE OF CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS

From Piazza De Ferrari you can reach Porta Soprana in less than 5 minutes on foot, the only remaining of the ancient entrance gates to the city, dating back to the 9th-10th century.

You will immediately spot it, thanks to its two tall towers. Built in stone, its structure is of medieval origin: a true piece of history.

Near Porta Soprana, before passing through the arch, you can visit one of the most fascinating places in the city: the House of Christopher Columbus, where the famous explorer is said to have lived during his youth.

It is a house-museum dedicated to the discoverer of the Americas, rebuilt in the 18th century on the remains of the original house, where Columbus spent his youth.
The building is small and has two floors: the visit is short and will not take up too much of your time.

VIA BALBI AND ROYAL PALACE

Via Balbi, one of the most important streets.

Here too you will find clubs, shops and wonderful buildings that frame the entire street.
The Royal Palace of Genoa houses one of the most important art galleries in the city.

Inside there are works by Van Dyke and Tintoretto, but also sculptures, frescoes and Genoese furniture dating back to the 17th-18th century.

SPINOLA PALACE

It is an aristocratic residence dating back to the 16th century, which houses wonderful paintings.
You will also have the opportunity to discover the wonderful frescoed rooms.

GALATA MUSEUM OF THE SEA
Galata Sea Museum

The largest maritime museum in the Mediterranean, dedicated to the history of navigation. You can easily reach it on foot from both the Royal Palace and the National Gallery of Palazzo Spinola.
The museum is spread over 3 floors, which house collections arranged in chronological order, starting from the age of rowing ships up to the

An integral part of the museum is the Nazario Sauro Submarine, which is located in the same small bay, right in front of the Galata entrance. Here you can enter the submarine and learn, by experiencing first-hand, the living conditions of the sailors on board.

ALBERTIS CASTLE

The house museum is set up in the residence of Captain Enrico Alberto d'Albertis, located in the upper part of the city. You can easily reach it by taking the Montegalletto elevator.
Castello d'Albertis was born from the idea of Enrico Alberto d'Albertis, who between the 19th and 20th centuries made several sea expeditions, bringing home numerous memories of these journeys.
This place therefore collects and bears witness to all the fascination that the distant worlds he visited had on his spirit.
Here you will find a large amount of archaeological and ethnographic material, as well as being able to admire a splendid view over the entire city.

Walking along Via Aurora, in 10 minutes on foot you can reach the top of Capo Santa Chiara, where the Rocca Tirrena stands, from which you can enjoy a magnificent panorama that extends to Portofino.
